About The Job

Dudek is seeking a senior climate resilience planner/project manager to join our planning and urban design group, which works collaboratively with experts across all disciplines to provide comprehensive planning and urban design services to public and private-sector clients. The ideal candidate will have strong technical aptitude, keen understanding of sustainability and climate resilience, effective communication skills, proven business development abilities, and thrives in a collaborative working environment. The role will offer the opportunity to be a leader in Dudek's growing climate resilience practice and provide diverse responsibilities in support of our climate resilience, environmental justice, and community planning practice areas.

Duties and Responsibilities (may include some or all of the below):
  • Work with our diverse team of experts to advance the climate resilience practice through effective business development, decision-making and delivering high-quality work.
  • Effectively strategize and lead community engagement efforts.
  • Lead large, multi-disciplinary project teams, contracts, and budgets, focused on climate resilience plans and related work.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail through quality reviews and checks; and commitment to accuracy, correctness, and excellence in work products.
  • Provide team support, mentorship and leadership.
  • Lead business development efforts and foster client relations, including spearheading conference panels and similar opportunities.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in City and Regional Planning or a related field
  • Twelve (12) years of related professional planning experience.
  • Experience managing and navigating highly complex and difficult processes, projects, and clients.
  • Working GIS knowledge, e.g. experience with Urban Footprint, ArcGIS, Adobe Creative Suite
  • Ability to collaboratively work in a team setting, and professionally represent Dudek in client/agency interactions
  • Knowledge of California planning and development law, especially as they relate to climate adaptation and resilience.

* As a federal contractor, successful candidates are required to pass the following pre-employment requirements prior to beginning employment: pre - employment drug test and background check.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in City and Regional Planning, or related field
  • Member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP)
  • Spanish, Arabic, or Tagalog fluency
  • Experience working in under-resourced communities
Physical Requirements
Working Conditions:
  • This job operates in a remote or office-based environment and this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc.
  • This job requires occasional project site visits-based outdoors which can include excessive noise, uneven walking surfaces, extreme weather, moving vehicles and equipment.

  • This job requires working on a computer, sitting or standing for long periods of time in an office or remote office setting.
  • This job requires attending meetings, both in person and virtually as well as speaking on the phone with peers, clients, etc. Speaking, hearing and listening are required.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Outdoor activity may involve walking/trekking in uneven terrain over long distances in extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time.

Proposed Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000 annually*

*Final agreed upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to an individual's related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location.
