Job Summary/Basic Function:
A grant-funded Postdoctoral Fellowship is available at the Department of Physiology, College of Graduate Studies at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona. Postdoctoral scholar who will develop, design, and perform experiments to investigate the integration of respiratory and vocal movements underlying voice production. The fellow will also investigate the functional morphology of vocal organs in different vertebrates including human in order to connect functional and mechanistic explanations for the evolution of complex phenotypes.

Minimum and preferred qualifications:
The position is well suited for candidates with a graduate degree in physiology, (veterinary) medicine, zoology, bioengineering, quantitative genetics or related field. Candidates with demonstrated expertise (i.e. publications) in a quantitative field (e.g. bioinformatics, biostatistics, statistics, genomics, computer science), with strong computational and programming skills are encouraged to apply.
The position is suited for candidates with an interest in teaching. Beginning in the second year, it is expected that the candidate contributes approximately 20% of their time to teaching. We teach to students of various healthcare professions.
