Kilgore College is a comprehensive public community college located in Eastern Texas with a campus in Kilgore, Texas and an extension center in Longview, Texas. With approximately 5,000 students, Kilgore College is a student-centered institution characterized by excellence in teaching and learning. This position is responsible for the development and production of statistical and analytical reports that support decision-making functions and planning.
Extracts data from the college’s student information system to generate reports; Responsible for conducting statistical research analysis by developing research protocols, compiling data, analyzing data using specialized statistical computer programs, and presenting research results in numerical and graphical formats; Prepares state and federal reports, including IPEDS; Develops information required to support such activities as planning, accreditation, program evaluation, student retention, and other initiatives; Integrates data from various sources into appropriate output formats using a variety of software tools; Produces reports requested by various internal and external individuals and organizations.
Bachelor’s degree required, masters preferred. Minimum of two years’ work experience in education, governmental agency, information technology, business, or social science research; institutional research and higher education experience preferred. Computer-based statistical data analysis using IBM-SPSS, SAS, or Access, plus Excel. Database query skills; SQL experience a plus, at minimum must be able to quickly learn SQL. Knowledge of research methodology. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work both independently and with all college constituent groups. Ability to prioritize tasks and to meet strict deadlines. Strong analytical skills and ability to work with little supervision.
Salary & Fringe Benefits
The salary for this twelve month position is $52,582. Health, life, and income protection insurance are provided. An excellent retirement program through the Teacher Retirement System and generous paid leave time are also furnished. In addition, full time employees have free use of the college’s recreational/fitness facilities in Kilgore and tuition scholarships are available for the employee and dependent children. Kilgore College does not participate in the federal Social Security program. As a result, employees/retirees of the college are subject to the federal Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and possibly the Government Pension Offset (GPO) laws.
