About the Role:

Our dynamic team is seeking a motivated, collaborative, and experienced scientist to support our in vitro biochemical and cell-based assay development, screening, and lead panel characterizations for our antibody discovery programs. The qualified individual will work closely with team members to design, develop and execute assays to deliver robust and high-quality decision-making data. The position requires excellent scientific, technical and laboratory skills, strong organizational and communications skills, and enthusiasm in contributing to a fast-paced organization focused on discoveries of novel and differentiated therapeutic candidates.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):
  • Develops and performs biochemical and cell-based assays, including ADCC/ADCP/CDC reporter assays

  • Perform antibody cell-binding assays and multicolor FACS analysis of antibody binding and/or cell marker staining

  • Measure cytokines, or other analytes, from cell-based assays or plasma/serum samples using immunoassay platforms such as MSD or ELISA

  • Prepare and isolate primary cells, such as CD4+ T cells and monocytes, for in vitro assays

  • Thaw, maintain and culture cell lines and primary cells for in vitro assays

  • Experience with label-free BLI binding studies to investigate competition and off-target binding of lead antibody panels is a plus

  • Responsible for data analysis and reporting

  • Tracks and documents assay performance

  • Continually provides recommendations to improve on process efficiency and research quality

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • BS/BA degree in scientific field and 2+ years of in vitro pharmacology experience; Preferred experience includes: primary cell culture, and related assay development, liquid handling automation and LIMS systems, antibody screening and related in vitro assays OR

  • MS/MA degree in scientific field and some relevant industry experience OR

  • PhD in biology or related field preferred and some experience with cell culture and cell-based in vitro assays, development and optimization of in vitro biological assays is required Preferred experience includes: primary cell culture, and related assay development, liquid handling automation and LIMS systems, antibody screening and related in vitro assays

  • Experience with flow cytometry and ability to independently perform multicolor flow cytometry experiments and data analyses (FlowJo)

  • Good knowledge and demonstrated ability working with a variety of laboratory equipment/tools, such as MSD, plate readers, automation. Experience with label-free technologies, such as Octet BLI and/or SPR is a plus

  • Working knowledge of primary cell culture, primary cell assays, cell lines, and transient transfections

  • Collaborative and highly motivated

  • Good knowledge of scientific principles, methods, and techniques

  • Ability to work as part of a team

  • Strong computer skills and experience with Prism, Excel, Word, etc.

  • Good communications, problem-solving, analytical thinking skills

  • Detail oriented

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Good project management skills
